Health is...

What I've learned being in healthcare is that health is complicated. Just like those dreaded relationship status, but that's a topic for another day.

Everyone has their own ideas about what it means to be in good health. To some it is simply not being sick or having a chronic disease like diabetes. To others it is having a clear mind or being physically fit. The answers are limitless.

At Quack, we believe health is balance. A balance between the mind, the body and the soul.

The Body

The body is the easiest part of health to identify. To put it simply, you live in it. You can touch it. You can see it. And you become more aware of your body when you are sick. You notice that things just don't feel "normal". Your body can do some amazing things. But don't worry we got you covered.

The Mind

When most people think about the mind (brain), they think about their emotions. Or that thing that won't shut down when it's way past your bedtime and you have an early morning meeting. Yeah, that thing. The mind or the brain, is connected to the body. The mind and the body can send messages and signals to each other almost instantly. In turn, your body reacts to these signals. When one is off balance, that feeling of "normal" may be disrupted.

The Soul

The soul is the least tangible part of health. However, it is simply what makes you, you. It motivates and drives you. It's where you find your creativity and your passions. Both the body and the mind speak to the soul. After all it is what makes you unique to the billions of people on the planet.

Good health requires more than a jog around the block. It requires a balance of all the makings of you.

So, what's your definition of good health?
